MISSION STATEMENT

As a Black woman, I understand and have experienced first hand the difficulties in finding service providers committed to anti-oppressive and anti-racist practices, offering spaces for gender-affirming care, and who truly respect the cultural differences that can only be understood through lived experience and/or amplifying diverse voices.

I believe in decolonizing mental health care, and that comes in upholding diversity and anti-oppression, as a value. I recognize that this work isn’t perfect and that mental health care must be decolonized and destigmatized for it to be effective in its purpose. With this in mind, I work within an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, trauma informed, culturally competent framework with a client first attitude. Using an integrative model, I embrace and respect race, culture, gender, sex, and class diversity, with a strong emphasis on intersectionality.
I commit to continuously integrating aspects of transparency and justice in ways benefitting all persons.
The aim of my services is to provide a safe space of inclusivity, comfortability, and equity.

I hope to build a therapeutic relationship with you that reduces the power imbalance within our therapy space, and offers you unconditional compassion, and empathy.
My commitment to you in helping you on your journey is to also openly acknowledge power, privilege, and oppression, as it relates to the situations in your life.
Collective care is the driving force to resilience and strength, and I commit to supporting you as you navigate through the difficulties of healing, as you strive to find inner peace.
